Grass Cutting

Lawn mowing can be done on a weekly or bi-weekly program which includes trimming edges and blowing grass of hard surfaces.

Overseeding is the practice of adding new grass seed into your existing grass. It is a very important step that helps keep your lawn thicker by filling in the thin areas, and it discourages weeds from infesting the lawn. Overseeding is also done to replace older grass by introducing new grass that require less water.

Fall is one of the best times for over seeding, with weather and precipitation ideal for establishing new turf-grass.

Mulching is one of the most important ways to maintain healthy landscape plants. A mulch is any material applied to the soil surface for protection or improvement of the area covered.

When applied correctly, mulch has the following beneficial effects on plants and soil:

  • Mulches reduce the growth of weeds, when the mulch material itself is weed-free and applied deeply enough to prevent weed germination or to smother existing weeds.
  • Mulches keep the soil cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

Hedge trimming

Hedge cutting seasons and the frequency of cutting depends on the species, but as a rule of thumb, formal evergreens like box or privet should be trimmed around two to three times a year during the growing season; around May to September.

Sod can be laid any time during the growing season.
